X plane 10 unlock11/20/2023 ![]() Note that not all cockpit changes are modeled yet. For now, enable "Start with engines running" in X-Plane's aircraft menu.Ī: Yes! Enable the freighter option on the EFB and the plane will become a 300ERF. This can be disabled by deleting the "xtlua_debugging.txt" file from the aircraft's plugins/xtlua/64/ and plugins/xtlua_fms/64/ folders.Ī: Currently, you can't start from cold and dark because not all required systems have been implemented yet. Along with the log.txt, this is one of the primary tools for investigating issues. It helps the developers find bugs and fix them. Q: What is the black console window that appears when I start the aircraft?Ī: Don't close it. Q: Where can I follow progress and announcements for this aircraft?Ī: Keep up with the project on our Discord Server! You can also see a detailed changelog here. Note that while the modeling is mostly complete, it's still subject to some changes. There's a channel in the Discord server named "livery-requests" where you can see what liveries people want. The paintkit is located in the "!Stratosphere 777-300ER" folder in the livery repo. If you are a livery painter and want us to add your livery to the repository, please create a pull request to the livery repo above and we'll add it if it meets our standards. If it's supposed to, then we just haven't written the code for that functionality yet.Ī: We have no release date at this time, however, you can still download the aircraft whenever you'd like.Ī: You can download liveries from us and various third parties from our livery repository Livery Painters Q: Why does the CDU say "KEY/FUNCTION INOP" when I try to do stuff on it?Ī: That notification means that key doesn't do anything. You can toggle the aircraft type on the EFB. Make sure the livery you are using is correct for the type of aircraft you're flying. We don't have a sound dev to fix this anymore, so if you have FMOD experience and want to help out, let us know!Ī: You are using a freighter livery with a passenger aircraft or vice versa. Just click "Understood" and the popup will close. Q: Why do I get an error when loading the aircraft? What do I do with it?Ī: This error is a known FMOD bug. By the time the aircraft is decently flyable, X-Plane 12 will have been out for a while and we expect more people to have switched by then and for the sim to be more polished. ![]() If you are on X-Plane 12, please check the "Installation" section and send us a message if it still doesn't work.Ī: We have removed X-Plane 11 support to make it easier for us to focus on X-Plane 12 development and utilize v12-only features. Q: Why is the aircraft not showing up in the aircraft menu?Ī: If you're using X-Plane 11, please read the "Sim Compatibility" section below. However, most users will find that it is more efficient to purchase a simulator already certified by GLEIM or PFC. There is nothing stopping users from getting in touch with the FAA and working through the steps to certification from there. The FAA-certified version also has some of the purely fun stuff (like space flight) removed–even though those situations are simulated accurately in X-Plane, just like the FAA-certified subsonic terrestrial flight. The biggest difference is that the FAA-certified versions have custom aircraft files with larger instrument panels, which are set up to work with hardware radios like those found in the physical cockpits. However, the software available for about $60 at is almost identical what is found in the $500,000 full-motion FAA-certified platforms. The retail version of X-Plane purchased at is not certified for flight training right out of the box, since certification requires a software and hardware combination. The certified software is available for $500 to $1,000 per copy from PFC and GLEIM and the hardware runs from around $8,000 to $500,000 depending on your needs. This is because flight training systems can only be certified as a complete package (a software and hardware combination). However, getting the actual certification through the FAA takes a great deal more work than getting the X-Plane software ready.Ĭertification requires not only that the user have the certified X-Plane software, but also certified hardware (cockpit and flight controls) available through companies like Precision Flight Controls and GLEIM Aviation. Any copy of X-Plane purchased from can have the features required for FAA certification unlocked using a special USB key or digital download product key.
